EDA is proud to be working with Biosphere Expeditions on a unique diving expedition to Musandam. Biosphere Expeditions is an award-winning, non-profit-making organization offering hands-on expedition-conservation-volunteer work as an adventure with a purpose for everyone. They bridge the gap between scientists at the forefront of conservation work in need of funds and helpers, and enthusiastic laypeople who in their holiday time, through their hands-on assistance and with their expedition contribution want to support them.
Their Musandam dive expedition is a pioneering study to map this currently unprotected underwater environment. Data on the current biological status of the reefs and of population levels of key indicator species are therefore crucial for educational purposes and to be able to put forward ideas for future marine protection areas.
Dates of the next expedition are 10 - 16 October 2010 | 17 - 23 October 2010 (6 nights). You will live on and dive from a very comfortable & modern live-aboard dhow, with a fully equipped kitchen, air compressor, toilet & showers, an air-conditioned lounge, electricity and other modern amenities. Two people will share an air-conditioned two-bed cabin or you can spread out and sleep on the deck.
