We always look forward to screening more documentaries/movies in the near future as we think it’s a good way to enjoy one’s self as well as go away with some important knowledge and information about our environment.

150 viewers came to watch the documentary for free that was again supported by the wonderful CineStar at MOE. Special thanks again to Mr. Toni El Massih and his amazing staff.
The Age of Stupid is the new four-year epic from McLibel director Franny Armstrong. Oscar-nominated Pete Postlethwaite stars as a man living alone in the devastated world of 2055, looking at old footage from 2008 and asking: why didn’t we stop climate change when we had the chance?
The film was released in 2009 and became one of the most talked-about films of the year. It also spawned the hugely-successful 10:10 campaign.

EDA hosted the movie night social to mark World Environment Day and World’s Oceans Day. The short documentary was shown from the Journey to Planet Earth series which was narrated by Matt Damon.
CineStar are big supporters of the environment and EDA, and were able to provide us with a cinema hall for free. Special thanks goes to Mr. Toni El Massih, The Regional Manager (cinemas and concessions) of CineStar Cinemas who organised the venue for us with the help of his brilliant colleagues. Approximately 200 people were in attendance and everyone watched intently as the documentary began, shedding some light on the plight of the Ocean’s animals at this present time. It was definitely food for thought…

EDA & EWS-WWF had the pleasure of screening the award winning documentary, Sharkwater. Cinestar and Canon ME sponsored the event and provided popcorn and drinks to all guests.
The documentary shows the journey of a young biologist, Rob Stewart and his quest to protect sharks. Stewart discovers these magnificent creatures have gone from predator to prey, and how despite surviving the earth’s history of mass extinctions, they could easily be wiped out within a few years due to human interference. Stewart’s remarkable journey of courage and determination changes from a mission to save the world’s sharks, into a fight for his life, and that of humankind.
